Dark, dirty nights, heavy rain and poor lighting lead to incidents like this becoming commonplace at this time of year.

The mixer was returning to its depot when the driver failed to see a small plant trailer and transit on the carriageway. He didn't loose much speed before the impact, and it knocked the axle out from under the mixer, bent the chassis, cab, steps etc. Fortunately the vehicle was not loaded at the time. We recovered it back to our base where hopefully it can be repaired.
